The expert committee, and the regional city district mayor had a closed-door discussion with experts, on building Qingdao city into a modern international city; the discussion’s target: how could Qingdao learn from a developed country like Israel and other advanced cities in order to create a modern international city atmosphere.

Israel is an important part of the Belt and Road Initiative and has the second largest innovation center in the world. Shandong province has always attached great importance to the cooperation with Israel. The two sides are cooperating extensively in agriculture, science and technology, medicine, intelligent manufacturing and more.

Qingdao as a port city, plays big role in it attracting Israeli companies to set their operations in the city; last year Qingdao-Israel International Business Club was launched, the Business Club is a comprehensive platform featuring exhibitions, marketing, roadshows, negotiations and trade for Israeli companies that are looking to the Chinese market, as well as Chinese enterprises seeking opportunities in Israel.
