For over a decade, Gilad Segev, known around the world and in China as Gilad Passerby is creating a path that is different from any other artists.

Rather than trying to be at the center of stage, Gilad Passerby gives it to the voices he finds all over the world in the most remote places, creating music videos together with local artists, and telling the story of real life people,whom he refers to as true life heroes.

Unlike many current celebrities, the Israeli international singer-songwriter and son of an Israeli Army General decided to march strongly and lead a new cultural path in order to amplify the less heard voices in our world.

To do that, he traveled far, connected to people in places he had never been before, studied the local culture, filmed the local landscape, and created unique content for his followers. This content expresses the integration between local sounds and his Passerby folk global sound that brought him success.

Before being nicknamed Passerby, He was known as Gilad Segev, A big star in his country of Israel, with many number one hit songs. Then one day he had a moment that changed his life when he was caught in a burning hotel in New York city and almost lost his life: "In the fire and smoke, I understood what I need to do in the short time I have and that is to do what I truly believe in. I understood that glorifying my personal name doesn’t matter too much, but my actions does, so after the fire I became the Passerby".

Between all the places in the world he travels to, Gilad Passerby is most connected to China, in which he has performed many times and has already has a million followers on Weibo.

His latest collaboration was with Chinese singer Hahui for a song dedicated to the healthcare workers in Wuhan. It got millions of views and was featured in Times Square in NYC.

Lately, he has decided to focus on China and to create an enterprise for China called Project 34. As part of the project, he will release a video every month over the next 34 months in collaboration with an artist who is representative of one of China’s regions.

Although his international career has great success all over the world, Gilad Passerby decided to spend the next few years traveling in China, seeking to showcase the beauty of China and its tradition, people, and landscape.

Gilad Passerby: "The reason is Love, a strong feeling I have for China. Its hard to explain love, but this what happened to me in China, I fell in love with the people, with the sounds and sights. Chinese people like jewish people honor family values, honor true friendship, and they have very deep roots. Project 34 is something I want the people in China and out of China to experience, so they can get to know the amazing things they miss, the magical Chinese energy that endured for thousands of years".

Starting in Zhejiang, Guangxi and Sichuan, continuing to Shaanxi, Jiangsu and Gansu, Gilad Passerby will go and collaborate through all regions in order to create a masterpiece for years to come and to reflect the light of others that stay in the shadow of today’s "pop stars".

The simplicity of nature, of people, and of sound will be at the center of Gilad Passerby’s Project 34 for China, and will be followed by the Project 34 special concert as well as a TV show to be broadcasted all over the world.
